Women’s Rugby 7s is a fun, fast and exciting game to play. You need to want to get fit and enjoy playing sport with other people. It is the ultimate team sport that is fast paced, physical and always challenging. We love it.
The inclusion of Rugby Sevens for men and women since the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio has seen huge growth in the game. The Australian Women’s team won the gold that shows the strength of the game in Australia.
Women’s 7s Rugby provides great opportunities for players of all abilities. If you are new to the game or an experienced player, Wakehurst will provide new and exciting opportunities’ on and off the field.

The Wakehurst Pumas Women’s Rugby team will join the fastest growing sport in the world. The Wakehurst Pumas will compete in the Sydney Women’s Rugby 7s competition, playing from April – August every 3rd Sunday, as well as regular games against clubs competing in the NSW Suburban Rugby Union competition on Saturdays.
Wakehurst Rugby Club are seeking expressions of interest from interested players (aged 17+), coaches and managers to be part of the club’s first Women’s 7s team in 2023.
Game Schedule 2023
Games will be on Sundays, the proposed date’s are
- 14th May,
- 28th May,
- 18th June,
- 2nd July,
- 16th July,
- 30th July,
- 20 August
We will also be arranging “Subbies” Women’s 7’s Saturday games with preseason competition, mid season competition, end of season competition
Previous experience in rugby isn’t necessary, all that’s needed is a keen attitude and willingness to be part of a club that is looking to grow.
